Absenger Cancer Education Foundation, A.C.E.F.
Absenger Cancer Education Foundation, A.C.E.F.
Dedicated to the education of the public and the research of CAM (Complementary & Alternative Medicine) approaches to cancer, the prevention, management, treatment, and the impact this severe imbalance of the body has not only on the victims, but also on supporting loved ones and caregivers.
The goal of the A.C.E.F. is to make this imbalance of the body manageable within two generations by strictly focusing on restoring homeostasis to the whole body through proper diet, exercise, stress management, and the application of modalities generally dismissed by the American Medical Association as "having no place in modern medicine".
This will include scientific research and double-blind trials in the fields of Hypnosis, Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Visualization, Prayer, Meditation, Massage, PSI Healing, Aromatherapy, the application of herbs in high dosages (also referred to as Phytotherapy), and mindful exercises such as Yoga, Chi Gong, Tai Chi.
My Story
Like so many other people, I, Werner Absenger, was affected by cancer as a bystander watching my dad's health slowly deteriorate while he battled esophageal cancer for several years, with "modern medicine" having no answers or viable treatments for the disease. Thus a "plot" was formed to help eliminate the senseless suffering of people with cancer by educating the public of measures one can take to maintain or restore the physiological processes between interdependent elements of the body toward a relatively stable equilibrium, called homeostasis, or health. More about Werner.
The Mission
To empower people in restoring their own health as defined by the World Health Organization by giving them the tools necessary to make informed, autonomous decisions pertaining to their individual situation.
The World Health Organization's definition of health is:
Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
Timeline:
2006
Established Sole Proprietorship in the state of Michigan, County of Ottawa.
Doing business as:
"Absenger Cancer Education Foundation" or
"A.C.E.F."

2006-2007
Start raising $3,000 through seminars and weblog donations to incorporate and establish A.C.E.F. as a non-profit organization. By the end of 2006 we will have enough funds to incorporate, and then, after the one year mandatory waiting period is up, we will be doing business as a non-profit corporation in early 2008. All your contributions might then qualify as a Tax deductible contribution. (check with your tax person)
As soon funding will permit, we will start to offer:
1. Free weekly counseling to women with metastatic breast cancer based on the results of the Spiegel study:
Spiegel D., et al. Effect of Psychosocial Treatment on Survival of Patients with Metastatic Breast Cancer. Lancet 2(8668) (1989):888
2. Free support groups for caretakers of seriously ill, again based on scientific research and the implications a disease such as cancer has not only on the patient but also on the loved ones.
3. Free nutritional counseling to prevent, and treat cancer.
2008 and beyond
Continue to raise funds through all possible channels on an ongoing basis to start operations of the Absenger Cancer Center. (More on this in future posts.)
Through our continued efforts in the field of Complementary and Alternative Medicine we will become a trusted leader in educating you on prevention, treatment, and coping skills for this mostly preventable, silent killer.
Why should you make a donation to the "small guy?" Simple, large non-profits have way to much overhead and don't maximize your donation. We on the other hand intend to keep it "small, simple, and local" as to be better able to maximize your donations towards the goals mentioned above. In the end, providing you with valuable, timely, well researched, non-partisan information about optimum health and how to achieve it.
In memory of our father, Adolf Absenger, husband, brother, uncle, and grandfather. At last, you're suffering will not have been in vain.
Beste Gesundheit,
Werner Absenger
